Business Agility Model

Organizational flexibility is greater affected by agile culture, whilst organizational speed is greater affected by understanding the probable future to make timely decisions. Both flexibility and speed are equally impacted by agile capabilities.

Business Agility Drift

The agility drift figure does show how industry can drift or force out organizations, as well as illustrating where agility is needed and where it plays a crucial role.

  • 1. The organization is in tune with the business space. Decision makers within the organization have successfully predicted an industry change and adjusted products and services to remain aligned to the stakeholders’ needs.
  • 2. Decision makers have lost the ability to understand the probable future and have missed the opportunity to change direction. The organization continues to create products and services with diminishing revenue/profit for the organization.
  • 3. The need for change has been recognized and a change in direction implemented.
  • 4. The longer the organization remains outside the market space the higher the probability that they will fail as their wisdom, culture and operational agility is eroded.
  • 5. The organization has used their collective understanding to identify potential future but in this case a combination of culture and organizational inertia has meant that the market has shifted again.

Strategic Agility Framework

The strategic agility framework consists of substantial steps revolving around drivers’ analysis, future changes and trends, drivers’ impact on an organization’s strategies, agile capabilities, and agile culture.

Operational Agility Framework

This figure represents main areas at operational level where business agility could play remarkable role to enable organizations embrace focused innovation, leverage value, build dynamic human capital & Assets, and quickly change stakeholders’ perception to make them move at the same pace of the organizations. Moreover, this framework interacts with the strategic agility framework to embed the 3 pillars of business agility model into the operational level.
